Going Blind? Go over your applique pattern using a Sharpie marker. I use a wide one but a med will work too. When you are ready to trace it tape the pattern onto your clear ruler and tilt your ruler towards you. Your work light will come right up through the ruler and the sharpie lines will be clearly visible. This is assuming your work light is facing you. No need for a light box, standing at a window or straining your eyes to see the pattern!

Need to reverse your pattern? Just scan the image and use your photo editor to "flip" the image, then print it out! I can't believe it took me so long to think of this...duh!

Scanner is dead and you need to reverse the pattern? Tape your pattern to the clear ruler with the image facing down. Then, sit in front of your worklight and, using your handy-dandy Sharpie, trace the pattern right on the back of the paper while tilting the ruler towards you. Your pattern is now reversed and you can put your fusible right on the traced image to trace it (reversed) and get to work!

Binding your quilt can be a pain in the butt! I have never learned how to bind using bias strips and my quilts look pretty cool if I say so myself...so if you need an alternative to the fussy bias binding let me show you how I do it!
