My version of Blanche, the Garden Angel
(
PatchAbilities) has a great big watering can and a
whole lot of hair. I couldn't help myself, I loved the
80's..good thing I wasn't playing my Madonna
"records", I might have needed a 10 yd skein of floss!
Her face, hands and shoes are flannel; the flower
and water can handle too. The dress, wings, and
some parts of the WC are flat cotton. I love this
one. She is the cutest thing!
I made her start to finish in an evening.
You can too; a kit is available!
I felt so accomplished when I completed this banner from the
Joined at the Hip  Yard Long series.
Using a primitive running stitch all over gave it a stippled look
and the buttonhole stitch completed the look in half the time
it would have taken if it was done in a traditional fold over
applique .Doesn't it look awesome?

Fast Fun!
This
Country Lore
pattern found its
way onto the
cutting table and
three hours later I
was hanging it in
the shoppe.
I chose darker
colors than the
ones used in the
pattern picture
and I substituted
buttons for the
wool dots to make
it "my own"...
I just love it!

Our First Sweetheart
Project of 2007:
A sweet Love banner
by
Hooper Creek !
Only  six inches wide,
it's  packed with
charm and lots of lovin'.
Opting for year round
colors and homespun
appeal
I used a gingham
background, hand dyed
wool for the applique
and
finished off with my
favorite buttons
from Hillcreek Designs.
Too bad I couldn't fit
the entire length in the
scanner!

I went the extra
mile on this one
and embroidered
the wreath. But
the end result
was well worth
the extra effort.
It is so cute  I
can't wait to get
started on my
next one
!

This Castilleja Peek-a-Boo pattern has been primmed up
a bit because I think these cute bunnies should not be
limited to Easter. If you love bunnies you should enjoy
them year round!  The bunnies are flannel and the rest
are reproduction fabrics.  So what do you think?
I love 'em!  Even if I couldn't fit it all in the scanner...

Another fun pattern by
PatchAbilities!
At only six inches wide this one
is easy to complete in just a few
hours. I added my own big ol'
woolie basket complete with
rickrack trim and wool felt eggs to
make it my own. I had to
embellish her with wool flowers
and hand dyed buttons because
my girls always accessorize! Give
me more time and I'd be beading
in some earrings! Her body is
flannel and her clothes are flat
cotton. I mix fabrics and textures
and hope that others don't shy
away from doing the same. It's
your masterpiece; use the
patterns  as guides and
have fun with your project...
Enjoy the process!!

Just one of my
Buttermilk Basin Stars.
I don't know why it looks Kelly
Green ...scanner trouble again!
I'll try to take a picture to get
a more accurate color.
Now this pattern was really
easy to complete. The hardest
part was turning it inside out
to fill it. Once that was done I
was home free! These pillows
can be made up in an
afternoon and look awesome!
A stress free project !
Nothing says
Lovin' like

Love Chain

The one pictured is

and it is hung on a
cute little Heart
Hanger (also
available on the
Patchabilities

of the quilt but I
wanted to show
you the buttons on
the bottom third...

Country Lore Designs'
Fall pattern has a new
twist, I've done it up in
wools and it is
stunning!
This is another quickie
quilt to complete on a
rainy day or just to
keep on hand for those
unexpected moments
of peace and quiet.
Once everything is
fused you can take it
anywhere to stitch up!

Another fast and Fun

watermelon seeds by Just
Another Button Company
as well as  a  teeny-weeny

eye and a star center

dimension. Love this one!

for a rainy Friday Night.
Our version is made of
Flannel and wool,
embellished with
Hillcreek designs' hand

cute rusty tin watering
can that comes with
the pattern. It's hard
to walk by it and not
touch it. It's so soft

Country Lore's
Crow's Autumn
Frost Mini Quilt

Our version is

the border was
quilted with
crooked lines to
make it a little

Silent Night, yet another Patchabilities quickie!
My primmed up version has muted snow in the
background and brighter snow in the
foreground. All applique is flannel and I must
say this one is a Showstopper! I love the chapel
all lit up against the evening sky...reminds me of
Midnight Mass...
Sven, this week's PatchAbilities Project!
This pattern is new to us and I just had to
make it as soon as it arrived. Isn't he the
cutest? Because my fabrics had loads of
snowflakes I decided to use colored buttons
and spice him up. I couldn't resist adding the
white stars though...I think I am a button
fanatic! Oh, my other idea was to use wool
pennies but that would have taken too long; I
need to get around to the next project y'know!
Last Leaves, another timeless beauty by
PatchAbilities.
Mine is embellished with  Lg and Sm. Black birds
that look just like the ones I see out my kitchen
window (where I stand to look at the falling
leaves from the big old Ash Tree that stands tall
in the backyard and drops all of its leaves in the
fall; then beckons me to rake them up!)
Sunflower, a Summer favorite by
PatchAbilities!
A surefire way to know if Summer is in full
swing is to check the garden. If the
sunflowers are out it's definitely
midsummer!
We're celebrating the Summer Season here
with this lovely new arrival. The Seeds are
brown but the scanner just thought green
would look cool so it somehow made it
green...I'm calling it scanner magic! =)
